Antique sideboard becomes TV cabinet
|

This was an old Chinese piece that I turned into a TV Cabinet. From this we custom designed a larger cabinet to fit the owners DVD player, speaker and amp. The unfinished piece shown below will have frosted glass doors, new hardware and painted a shabby antique cream.

| We found this old cabinet and altered the center doors. Frosted glass will be added and holes drilled in the back for the cords. There is storage on both sides and the bottom drawers.

This is a reproduction of an old Tibetan cabinet. Holes are drilled in the back and the doors need to be open to use the remote.

TV PLACEMENT
Don't sit too close to your TV or you'll go blind. Remember those words of warning? It's not true. Televisions keep getting bigger and the picture clearer. There's a calculation that is often used to determine screen size relative to its distance from the seating. But the Flat panels are throwing the formula off.
- The TV should be as close as possible to eye level when viewers are seated with speakers at ear level.
- Sitting two times the distance relative to the screen size is a good general rule. For a 42 inch TV, seating should be about 7 feet away.
- Ideally, TV viewing should be straight on. Choose a wall mount that lets you move and adjust the screen to offset awkward placement if it's not.
